09/03/17 – TrialGP explained – Sport7, the company who will now deliver the FIM Trial World Championship – TrialGP, FIM Trial2 World Championship – Trial2, FIM Trial125cc Cup – Trial125, FIM Women’s Trial World Championship – TrialGP Women, FIM Women’s Trial2 World Cup – Trial2 Women and the FIM Trial des Nations – TDN / FIM Women’s Trial des Nations – WTDN is pleased to be able to confirm the following key information regarding the 2017 season.

Qualification
This will be contested over a single section with both observation and time being used to decide the starting order with in each class. 

Event Format
All events 2 laps – 15 sections.

European events:
Friday – Paddock opens
Saturday – Administration / technical control / official practice and qualification (for start order only within class)
Sunday – Trial

Non-European events:
Thursday – Paddock opens
Friday – Administration / technical control / official practice and qualification (for start order only within class)
Saturday – Trial
Sunday – Trial

Manufacturers’ Championship
The Manufacturers’ Championship will now consist of each manufacturer nominating 1 TrialGP rider and 1 Trial2 rider to count towards their overall championship total.

(FIM Trial World Championship) – for machines over 250cc 2T/4T – all days counting towards overall championship – limited to 20 maximum riders by selection only.
