Adam Raga – TRS and Toni Bou – Repsol Honda shared the wins when the FIM Trial World Championship visited Twin Ring Motegi for the 2016 TrialGP Japan.

Raga shocked his fellow Spaniard on day one with a big sixteen-mark winning advantage after powering ahead on the opening two laps. Takahisa Fujinami – Repsol Honda finished third a further seventeen marks behind after overhauling his Spanish team-mate Jaime Busto on the final lap to deny him a debut podium by a single mark.

Spain’s Albert Cabestany – Sherco failed to recover from a high-scoring first lap and rounded out the top five, eight marks adrift of Busto.

Bou comprehensively turned the tables on Raga on the second day in a much lower-scoring event.

Leading by three marks after the opening lap, he increased this to nine with a devastating second-lap score of five and then signed off by dropping just one on the final lap to win by twelve marks.

Fujigas stayed in much closer contention this time around and was threatening Raga’s second place until the two-time FIM Trial World Champion finally pulled seven marks clear on lap three.

Cabestany ended the second day in fourth, six marks behind Fujigas and fourteen ahead of fifth-placed Jeroni Fajardo – Vertigo.

Twelve months on and who will be in with a shout this time around?
