27/03/17 – TrialGP – Ahead of starting the defence of his TrialGP crown, Toni Bou – Repsol Honda stands on the verge of securing another FIM World title to add to the already twenty individual World crowns he has secured during his immense and illustrious career. Now fifteen points ahead of his nearest rival Adam Raga – TRS in the 2017 FIM X-Trial World Championship, only absolute disaster will prevent Bou collecting his latest gold medal in Nice, France this coming Friday night.
Having notched up his fiftieth win, earlier this season, in the FIM Indoor / X-Trial World Championship since he made his debut in Toulouse, France back in 2005, it is not difficult to understand why he has not been beaten in the series since he secured his first title in 2007. His fourth on his maiden outing, signalled things to come from the then eighteen-year-old. By the end of his first indoor season Toni was ranked eighth overall before moving up to be ranked third come the close of the following campaign. A year later Bou was World Champion, a moment that was to mark and start an incredible winning story for the now thirty-year-old who is destined to become King Toni XI in just a few days’ time.
